The Dayton region is under significant stress from the COVID-19 pandemic. New problems and challenges form every day, but our ability to support is limited by what we can do from our own homes. This is a volunteer community that responds to these problems by connecting people to work together on quick, impactful projects.
We need your help. All are welcome regardless of whether you’re a technologist, entrepreneur, creative, or just a generally awesome person.
We will kick off working groups this weekend (11am on Saturday, details in Slack) and will continue to take projects on a rolling basis, as our resources and interests permit. It is never too late to join, and new projects will be starting regularly.
How does it work?
Collect Ideas: Non-profits, businesses, and community members will suggest an idea for the Dayton region.
Review & Vote: #CantStopDYT will review the ideas as a group during a weekly call and vote to determine which ones move forward.
Form Teams: Volunteers will meet as a group (over the internet, of course) to form teams where interests and skillsets overlap with the project needs.
Get to Work: Ideal projects will be completed in quick 1 – 2 week sprints, but some may require longer commitments.
Launch: Projects will take flight. Sometimes they’ll need a little love to keep them going.
Join at any time!
Step 1: Add yourself to the #CantStopDYT volunteer roster so we can connect you to a project that matches your interests.
Step 2: Join the #CantStopDYT community on Slack. Slack will be the main place where we work and communicate.
Step 3: Share your ideas! We will help organizations organizations facing challenges, but know many individuals have great ideas to work on too!
Does your organization need help?
Does your business, non-profit, or community group need help that could be solved through technology?
Maybe you need help getting your yoga studio online? Or you’re a non-profit that needs help updating your website. Or you’re a comedian who wants to help people smile.
Submit your challenge and we’ll try to match it with a group of skilled volunteers to work on it for free.
